Plant Wildflowers In Honor Of Mother Earth
There is going to be one truly massive party on April 22nd, and you are cordially invited to be a part of this global celebration. Just imagine the biggest party that you’ve ever attended and then multiply it by about a million. That’s about the scope of this year’s 40th anniversary of Earth Day Celebration. Yes. It’s hard to believe, but Earth Day will turn forty this year. After four decades, we have made lots of progress on behalf of the planet, but you only have to look around you to see that we still have plenty of work ahead of us. Fortunately, environmental issues are getting more and more of the attention they have always merited from today’s elected officials. More groups are organizing to lobby and to labor on behalf of a better, healthier planet. So, why not join with the millions of others who are already making plans to make this year’s Earth Day celebration something special?
You could help clean up a local park or maybe plant an empty field with wildflower seeds. You could make a pact to recycle all of your recyclables, or a promise to always bag your doggie’s droppings. You might want to join with a group and undertake a big clean-up project, or make a commitment to keeping the earth greener every day, by joining one of the many organizations that need regular volunteer help. Whether you donate money, your time, or you just spend a day without polluting, you will be giving Mother Earth a present that ensures she will be healthy and able to sustain us and our fellow citizens of the planet for many more years. I know the planet and all the other creatures and plants that share her with us, will appreciate your gesture.
